More than an Apple
The other morning, Jasper and I are slowly getting up and out of bed when I realize he’s staring rather intently at my eyes. I pause, watching him, trying to discern the cause for such distracted, intense focus.
I smile.
He says, “Baby. Eyes.”
Then a pause.
He says, “Baby in the eyes.”
Maybe the first time he’d noticed a reflection of himself in his mama’s eyes.
